The sounds produced by singing bowls have a healing effect on body, mind and soul. The sounds are very clear, soothing and have a relaxing effect. This benefits body, mind and soul. Singing bowls are therefore increasingly used in so-called singing bowl concerts/healing sessions.
Some history of the Singing Bowls
Singing bowls have their origins in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Their first singing bowls originally came from the Himalayas. Because there is no clay in that area to make ceramic dishes, metal ores such as gold, silver and copper were mined to make the dishes, but also “kitchen utensils”. Singing bowls were, and still are, used in Buddhism, among other things, as a meditative musical instrument.
Due to the differences in composition, size and wall thickness, each bowl has its own character, tone and timbre. The singing bowls are struck with a beater and you can make the bowls "sing" with a rubbing stick. For this reason they are sometimes called "singing" bowls. Traditionally, the singing bowl has been used by Tibetans, shamans, Chinese, priests and priestesses from Egypt and Atlantis, to heal, calm, and encourage the body to heal.
What is the effect of Singing Bowl healing?
A singing bowl healing invites the body to deep relaxation, peace and balance between body and mind. The effect of singing bowl healing can be that you feel yourelf more energized, sleep better, and it can help to release blockages or even removes them. It can help to improve your concentration and activate the body's self-healing capacity. Singing bowls have a harmonizing and purifying effect. As our body consists of 70% water, the vibrations are beautifully transmitted throughout the body. The sound and vibration of singing bowls have a profound influence on your body and mind and can restore the body's own vibration and frequency, which can solve physical and mental problems.
For whom is the use of singing bowls suitable?
In principle, singing bowls can be used by everyone, from young to old. The vibration is very tangible for everyone, the feeling is clear and goes through every cell of your body. Singing bowls provide support for complaints such as: back pain, headache, asthma, depression, fatigue, burn-out, concentration disorders, insomnia, stress, blockages and polluted aura. Singing bowls healing can stimulate memory in dementia patients. For terminal patients, feelings of well-being are promoted, which leads to more inner peace and relaxation in body and mind and promotes acceptance of the situation. With highly sensitive children, the use of singing bowls for example provides support restlessness, nervousness and hyperactivity.
Please note: the use of singing bowls is NOT suitable for the following people
Singing bowls cannot be used by everyone. A singing bowl session is not suitable for people who are under psychiatric treatment (for example schizophrenia), people with psychosis or who have had psychosis in the past, people who suffer from epilepsy, people who wear a pacemaker or people who suffer from thrombosis. Singing bowls may not be placed on the body during pregnancy up to the sixth month.
Singing Bowl healing session
During a singing bowl healing, clothing is kept on. During the healing, singing bowls are placed on the body or next to the treatment table. The bowls can also be walked around the table and moved along or over the body. In this way you are surrounded by harmonious sounds and you are able to relax and detach from what has been bothering you. During a session you will experience deep relaxation and feel what healing effects these sounds can bring for you.
Singing bowl healing is a nice way to relax and heal. It brings mind, body, spirit and soul back into balance.
I hope to see you soon in my practice!
